The best kind of shortwave radios are the ones which are multiple use and very
affordable. Shortwave radios have been a niche hobby for enthusiasts for decades. But
you don’t need to be an expert in shortwave or ham radios to enjoy listening to our
broadcasts and others on shortwave radio. You can find good quality radios for between
US$50 – $100. It’s a great idea to have a shortwave radio as part of your emergency
preps. We’ve put together a short list of sources with great reviews to get you started on
your shortwave radio journey.
Our current favorite is a vintage-inspired Shortwave Radio for under US$100 by none
other than RadioShack. RadioShack was an American electronics brand based in Fort
Worth, Texas. It’s been revamped to an e-commerce site – radioshack.com by a group
out of South America and yes you can purchase some awesome and affordable radios
through Amazon or directly on Radioshack website.

and Shortwave stations. We loved it, because it’s got USB – you can plug in your own
playlist, a Bluetooth input for speakers and a rechargeable battery.
